Aspergers & Grief/New job

Hi I'm New to the site, not diagnosed but thinking about starting the process. However, 3 months ago my Dad passed away from Bowel Cancer. I was very close to him & supported him Alot during the last few months of his life. Since then I've had to sort most things out related to funeral, his finances & clearing his house ready for selling (probably the hardest thing ever for me)

I keep being told I'm doing really well considering but It's been really hard at times. Even now, I'm not sure what to do to deal with losing him & how to get back to Normal. I lost my job in August which was good at the time, as I got to spend more time with my Dad & stop Juggling everything. But now I could do with finding a new job but that prospect, even the interview process is Terrifying to me. I attempted a couple of interviews b4 Christmas but I ended up in tears. So is there any useful resources or experience from other's of coping with grief when your on the spectrum & also new job/interview advise would be very helpful. Thanks in advance x

  • Hello Clareybobbie

Sorry to hear about your dad.

    Following on from DuckBread's reply

Unfortunately, we are not able to offer direct support to people who are searching for work. However, there are some other organisations who may be able to help:

The British Association of Supported Employment, who have a database of supported employment agencies, so you can search for one in your local area: www.base-uk.org

Remploy, an organisation which supports people with disabilities and those experiencing complex barriers to work, into mainstream employment: www.remploy.co.uk

Either of the above, may be able to give you some advice around the job/interview situation.

    i hope this helps.

    Best Wishes

  • Umm - I've been handed off to Enterprise Team - it would appear that they're starting to build out the whole thing again...  alongside Autism At Work..
