Tiniest things causing panic

This morning I got up and went in kitchen to do breakfast and the fridge light didn't come on when I opened the fridge door. The motor is still running but now I have a dilemma as my food shop is due wed. do I cancel that risking more distress due to disruption of routine suddenly incase the fridge freezer stops working completely before wed and buy a new fridge freezer?  ...or assume the fridge light just doesn't work because the bulb needs changing?

it worked fine last night the last time I opened the fridge door before going to bed, and the door has then being closed all night. Logic dictates it must the bulb as the fridge and freezer are still working but that doesn't stop the feeling of panic and the anxiety making me feel so sick I can't now eat breakfast. Now I'm anxious about leaving it when I take the dog out incase the kitchen is flooded with water by the time I get home, though again in theory I know it takes hours for the fridge freezer to defrost and I'm usually back within an hour.

But its full of food and my second chest freezer is also full so no where else to transfer the food to while I got a new one delivered.

Does anyone else find tiny things like this cause an amount of panic and/or anxiety that doesn't match the situation? I'm going to be constantly thinking about this fridge light now and be stuck unable to make a decision when I have other things that need doing more urgently.

  • problem now is I turned it off at wall cos it was churning too much and now it won't come back on again there's no motor activity at all, so looks like I've got no choice now. I'm going to have to try and get a next day delivery so I can still keep food delivery on schedule for wed.

Wish it didn't stress me out so much cos I'm straight back to needing a drink cos I'm so stressed out when I haven't had a (alcohol) drink for weeks
