Supported living and sudden change

My parents have been talking about me going into supported living for the last year or so...

I think it would be great because I may need help with the complicated side of living independently (e.g. paying bills, money management, etc...) as I also have dyscalculia.

Also, my best friend (who is also on the spectrum) told me there is a chance he could be moving out of his parent's home because apparently, his parents don't agree with supported living for him and want him to live independently himself without help. I am very happy for him but he also lives on my street which is the sad part. I really will miss him loads and I have been having meltdowns since he first told me, I do rely on him quite a bit as he can function better than me (I am not jealous at all) and he is my best friend so I go to him for comfort a lot. He is still living locally but I am very nervous.

Does anybody have any advice on how I, myself could get into supported living? I want to go somewhere which is non-judgmental as I was being taught independent living skills at college (special ed college) but I was constantly getting told off for not doing things right, especially when it came to the money management side of it.

Thanks muchly!  Slight smile
