Getting benefits

hello,

I am currently waiting for news from a recent reassessment for PIP, and have just lost my ESA. I used to get both but since I am now a uni student I don't get ESA, dispite being told that if I get PIP I'll get some ESA (even if it was a reduced rate).

Now I and my mum are worried about my financial situation, and being able to afford rent with having two medications (is free if I get ESA, £18 approx a month if I dont) and printer paper and ink, course materials, food etc. I do have food in my cupboard so I'm fine for now and still get my PIP until I hear from the assesment (or whenever they make a decision).

They only asked to see my student loans, no reassessment or anything for ESA.

We're both annoyed really. Does anyone have help or advice?

  • Buy a prepayment prescription certificate, works out just over £10 a month, and will cover all your prescriptions.

You can cancel it at anytime if you do get a benefit that allows you free prescriptions.

I hated paying for mine, I think anyone with a life long condition should get them for free.
