Tax Relief on Counselling Fees ??

Diagnosed with Aspergers last year, I managed to get some CBT through the NHS which helped a lot but only a set number of sessions which was a great help up until he final session and then you are cut adrift and  told you bugger off and not come back (not quite in those words but you get my drift).

After mega issues with anxiety and depression I decided to get some private counselling which I am in the fortunate position to afford.

To date I've spent over £1000 and I was wondering if this expense qualifies for tax relief seeing as I'm a basic rate tax payer.

Cant find anything on the HMRC website and don't want to have to phone them up and sit in a queue for hours on end.

Does anyone know?
