Venlafaxine - warning mention of suicide

I've been given an antidepressant called venlafaxine. I took just one tablet yesterday and within an hour didnt feel good. I feel rotten right now. So I googled if it's related to tramadol which I cant have it made me so agitated I tried suicide when I took it. It was a horrific time I really couldnt think straight. The venlafaxine effects arent as strong as the tramadol but I'm still really scared and its thrown memories back up :( so the 2 medicines are quite close in composition I found out from google. Feeling so fed up at the moment. Theres not many drugs I can seem to have. Anyone else the same? Thankfully I'm not alone this time as my husbands home

  • An update on taking Venlafaxine. Well since I went on a higher does I've noticed I sweat more, especially at night. Also, I am getting really weird and vivid dreams - apparently this is a common side effect. I wake up the next day really tired so decided to reduce the frequency of taking the tablets. But if I leave it too long I start getting "Brain Zaps" and very jittery (as though I have drunk 20 cups of strong coffee). Not very nice at all.

    I've decided that I need to come of these and wondered if anyone else has successfully weaned themselves off.

    I still have a stockpile of Citalopram and might swap to that drug to ease the withdrawal symptoms????
