Asperger's without an official diagnosis 28yo.

Hey everyone, first time posting here and could do with some help with my current situation.

I've been going back to counselling for some time now and we've done a bit of a deep dive. I won't go into the details as it's a little boring but both I (with some research) and today my counsellor, believe that I have Aspergers.

Seeing everything laid out it makes a lot of sense and as scary and upsetting as it I feel quite relieved.

I've been refereed by my GM for a diagnosis but this could take months even to hear back. With what I've discussed with my counsellor (who has worked extensivly with adult Asperger  clients) I feel as though it's wrong to start coming to terms with this without it signed on a piece of paper.

Has anyone else been in this situation?
