I have thought about that and need more money but I just can’t communicate with them and I’m worried that they will misunderstand me or that if someone knows I have autism they will be cruel to me or hurt me as has happened to me in the past when people knew. If I apply it will mean I will have to answer questions and talk to people. I can’t do that.
Had a really bad experience the first time I applied, admittedly I didn't have a formal diagnosis at the time.
Last time I applied I had my diagnosis and had a specialist nurse who knew about autism, I got the basic daily rate, it's only £50 odd a week, but makes a big difference as I only earn £200 a week and don't receive any other benefits.
You just have to keep trying, sooner or later you will get somewhere.
Thanks for letting me know. That sounds like an interesting job, and great that you don't have to deal with the public. I wish I could find something out of the public gaze near me.
With all your experience and loyalty to the company, I'm sure whoever takes it over will need to keep you, so I hope they see sense!
Hi, yeh I work organising a warehouse for a mail order company, I was lucky, the owner of the business noticed I didn't like dealing with the public, but was good at sorting things into groups, done it for 26 years now since leaving school.
Really would be hard for me to find another job if I was ever lost this job, and as the guy who owns the place is approaching retirement age, I am a bit concerned

Can I ask what it is you do? If I could earn this much, it would help me tremendously and probably spare me from having to apply for benefits.
Please feel free to private message me if you'd rather not discuss it in the open forum. Thanks.
