England is the most beautiful place in the world completely underrated as a tourist spot. England has a very complex historic background. As for living there that is more difficult as the house prices are crazy compared to USA. The really big difference between USA and England is our health system which we call the NHS. Put simply everyone gets health treatment for free. Also we cant buy guns in supermarkets or really at all. England is tiny compared to the vastness of the USA which I found is its greatness beauty.
The NHS is definitely a national treasure.
I don't know how England/Britain/UK compares in tourist numbers to the rest of Europe but I do think we get fair few of them; they do tend to go to all the main and most obvious tourist spots and miss out on some of the UK's most beautiful and less well known places though, but then there is good and bad to that I suppose.
I'm used to living in very touristy areas and I like them but some of the Instagram crazes have been very difficult and quite destructive to local beauty spots. It does make me sad though when someone gets off and plane and onto a bus then spends 10 days driving from one castle to the next and not much else, but I suppose that's easier to organise if you live on the other side of the world.

Glad to see some support here for the NHS system. I can't use it, after I've been so many years abroad; but if I had to return, I'm sure it would do its best; Always supposing the current regime don't destroy it just because they hate everything it stands for. I have recently witnessed (while back home for a break) two cases of really effective healthcare for other family members.
I have to say that almost no one at my income level really felt particularly at home in the UK during the 10 year Thatcher reign; even those who voted for her. They were very divisive times; and it's just as bad right now. But I still have quite a lot of faith in the majority of UK people.
