Adult diagnosis parent meeting

Another needy post...

i went for for my initial assessment meeting last month and now my mam has to go to a meeting tomorrow without me,  it she is also very nervous about what they’re going to ask her or get her to do.

Does anyone one have any experience with this or ideas about what they could ask?

Thanks in advance

  • If this is the second part of the diagnostic process, I think it will be a simple but maybe lengthy questionnaire-driven interview to look at how you were during early childhood (around the age of 5).  The questions will be around how you played, interrelated, habits, food preferences, sleep patterns etc and it's fine for her to skip questions and just say she doesn't remember when that's the case.

As my mother is quite elderly and this interview had to be conducted in her home, I was there with her for mine and it was very relaxed, just a bit time consuming because it was quite detailed.  My mother didn't have to do anything other than answer the questions and the worker was very patient and understanding as my mother reflected and tried to remember some vague areas.  I'm sure there were huge gaps in the answers but it didn't make any difference to the outcome of my assessment, if that's any help.
