I'm having one of those days (and often do!) where I have a big task to complete (my dissertation), but just can't concentrate. My mind keeps wandering, I'm procrastinating, and I feel like I'm not sure where to start.
Does anyone have any tips on getting yourself to focus when you're struggling with concentration?
When I was at uni and struggled like this, I would turn it into a game/challenge for myself. I'd simplify whatever it was to do. Dissertation, OK maybe today you're going to pick a theme to research. Just pick a tiny corner to work from and I hope you'll soon find yourself in the middle of your work. What is your dissertation on?
That's a good idea - thank you I'm researching how confident managers are when supporting colleagues with their mental health.
That sounds like a hot topic, your dissertation will actually be useful. How did you get on yesterday? I will be interested in reading your work when you are done, no pressure
Haha, if I'm feeling brave
That's fantastic
And I look forward to it. I bet lots of people will be interested with it. Maybe you can do us a video breakdown of it when you're done.. Just for fun
