Massive anxiety. Going back to work tomorrow

I am a teacher returning to work tomorrow after the summer holidays and my anxiety is super high tonight. It is an inset day tomorrow and therefore it is all adults and lots of " How was your summer ?"

Any ideas how to calm down tonight and how to cope with tomorrow?

Someone told the deputy head something I said last term so I don't know who to trust any more and that is making it worse.

  • I don't know if it's much help but I always find that deep cleaning and tidying up helps mute my anxiety as it gives my brain something to concentrate on.

When I was younger in my secondary school years I would suffer immensely with what I called "Sunday Night Blues" the fear of going back to school on a Monday morning so I always tidied my bedroom thoroughly every Sunday night to try and calm me down often getting distracted by magazines reading in the process and making sure my Commodore Amiga 500 was polished and neat on my desk etc.

Even these days I still suffer badly if I've had a weekend off work or a week with my levels of anxiety but once I get to work the day after and get into my routine I find I calm down a bit and then when I get home it's like Agggghhhh a big sigh of relief.

I also watch YouTube videos of anything that I am obsessing about or have a good long read taking in information off websites which help tire my mind before bed.

Hope you manage to find something to calm you. : )
