Volunteering Uganda Fundraising

Hi Everyone

My son (22) is hopefully off to Uganda in October for 10 weeks on a volunteering project.

We were shocked when he said he was going to do it but as he has problems getting even an interview for a job. So he thought he would do something useful instead

He needs to raise £800 in the nest few weeks. He has got over £400 so far but has hit a wall.

He would do bag packing, etc etc but no supermarkets are getting back to him. He has tried several places to do a cake sale again with no success

Does anyone have any other ideas?

He likes to hide his autism and is very stubborn in wanting to do everything himself and not accepting help.

He has a just giving page but i do not know if I can put the link on here.

Any help gratefully received.

Colin

  • Yes-  ideal weather for simple outside jobs - washing a car only takes 1/2 hour and people will likely just give £10  - so that's £20/hour with no tax.     Walking pets is easy too - but a bit more effort of walking all over the place - and you really should have insurance in case something happens to their pets.      Simple weeding in someone's garden is a bit back-breaking and hard on your knees.

There's lots of small, cash jobs around if you want to get some money.
