Is a high score on AQ test definitely autism?

Autistic people.generally score high, and non autistic people generally score low.

It is not a quantititve test but a qualitative one, a higher score does not necessarily indicate a greater chance of autism,.just that there are.more.traits.

There are.those who score lower.but can stilll receive.a.positive.diagnosis.  The test is just a binary test in reality, there are onlyntwo scores for each question so a 'slight' has the same.sxore as.a.'very' which would.indicate to.me.some.jiggle.room.

Addiction can be used as a coping strategy there are articles to suggest that it is quite a common co-morbidity. Addition can be used a distraction, a way or reducing anxiety or a reward for simply getting through the day - or all three.

However, ASD can at times be ruled out and anxiety, depression etc cited instead - correctly or incorrectly. However, my question has always been - what caused the anxiety in the first place.  Is it the struggles that people suffer with who are on the spectrum such as understanding social nuances, self expression and being at more risk in life situations that can cause an anxious temperament etc
