Can autism be used as an excuse for bad behaviour ?

Quite simply can those with awareness of their autism, use the diagnosis/label as an excuse for what NT's consider is bad behaviour?

Or is it, to accuse an autistic person of abusing their diagnosis is in effect lack of understanding of autism?

And worse, abuse of autistic people

  • I would agree with plastic.

But what is the behaviour? Some nt's consider stimming bad behaviour and in that case I would argue that it is lack of understanding

  • I am not entirely sure what it is I have done wrong, to be called bad behaviour but given what noises have been made I am inclined to consider, my special interest in addition to my stilted communication when I am upset is part of it, but beyond that with restricted communication my attempts to communicate by way of web articles on autism of which I understand  is not being well received, to consider am damned if I do and damned if I don't.
