People bore me

I find most people tedious and uninteresting. I find more amusement in watching plays and films than actually living. The vast majority of people are tedious and never do anything of interest.

  • I sort of have this problem too. I have ben on dates with girls that have absolutely nothing to talk about and all they can tell me they do for fun is whatch TV. It of course extends to men as well but I don't try to go on dates with them so often have even less in common. Sadly i think it is the age we live in. Being intelligent is no longer a requirement for getting on in life. My employer totally does not get the fact that i am very intelligent and jut thinks that i have "knowledge". I was begrudgedly given a rise this year becaue of my "knowledge" but actually there are people paid plenty more than me that don't give a toss about their job and are not very clever.

Intelligent people on the whole do tend to get on and move away to new social circles. social circles seem to revolve around how much people are paid and if you want to meet other people in these income brackets you have to go where they go which is generally expensive.

On the other hand i see a dumbing down of things these days. People are not required to think for themselves anymore, they just follow instructions so there is very little get up and go in anyone and no one bothers unless they will get rewarded for making an effort. I have lost count of the times i have been asked to show someone how to do something that they won't understand and will go wrong if they have deviated slightly assuming nothing pops up anyway that they won't be able to deal with. I have now just taken to refusing offers of getting people to help me at work saying that i am the only one skilled enough to do it.

My boss who knows nothing of what i know expects to fly to a foreign country and troubleshoot our system on a customers vehicle by having me on the end of the phone in the UK. Last time I just ended every response with, I don't know because I am not there. The result was that he had to arrange a second trip and take me so that i could just deal with it.

We live in a culture where people are not encouraged to think, just tow the line.
