Re Cycling and Autism

Hello All,

not wishing to draw attention to myself BUT, I gave an interview to Cycling Weekly magazine back in March about my troubles with cycling and being autistic and it is published in today's edition. I hope I have raised some important issues and maybe it will encourage other club riders and clubs to be more understanding as this is sometimes lacking. I hope it makes people laugh as there is humour there as well as frustration. Thank you.

  • Hi Nick

I'm a fellow cyclist and subscribe to Cycling Weekly. I read your article with interest.

I was diagnosed with Autism/Aspergers last year

I find that cycling helps a lot with my anxiety issues. In fact I think that the only time I am relaxed is when I am out cycling.

I'm competing in Velo Birmingham tomorrow which I am looking forward to but my start time is 0630 which means I will have to get up at 0330 tomorrow morning!
