Anyone here diagnosed by Surrey and Borders? Did they phone you as soon as they knew or did you have to wait for a letter?
I believe that my case may be discussed with the consultant this week and I'm keen to know.

Yes I'm getting well practiced at sitting on my hands :-)
For me it was 15 months from referral to 1st appointment, I couldn't be told on the day (which others I know have) and had to wait 5 weeks for my case to be discussed at the monthly(!) team meeting. I would still be waiting now if I hadn't called them. Now I have no idea how long it will be - I'm suspecting several months.
I don't know whether my particular Doctors Surgery here in Leatherhead comes under the same Authority but I received my notification by post from the ASD team in Epsom. I have to say that they were excellent- I only had to wait a few days after my assessment before the rather weighty envelope landed on my doormat.
The process can seem agonisingly slow and ponderous though and I know just how frustrating this can be, we have no alternative though than to simply sit on our hands and wait for the machinery to operate at its own pace. Most of us have been waiting out whole lives for this so a few extra days or perhaps a week is not really too much to bear.
Read up and research groups in your area which you may decide you'd like to get involved with in the meantime, I wish you lyck and welcome you to the fold!
