Employment

Hello everyone, I am new here and have recently been referred for an ASD assessment (aged 41), and awaiting a formal diagnosis (which as I have heard could take until the next millenia).

I wanted to find out from others what have your experiences been if you are working full-time?  I presently work full-time and get so drained by the end of the day due to many sensory and noise factors, anybody have any tips or advice to share.  Thank you in advance :)

  • Funnily enough, I am going through process for work adjustments at the moment as I work full time. I was diagnosed in February this year (started process in about August last year). It just really depends on the organisation and how receptive they are to making adjustments. I am the same as you, sensitive to sound and completely drained once I am finished so I am pushing through authorisation for noise cancelling headphones and an mp3 with rain sounds paid for by yours truly!
