Hi guys. Just to update you from my previous thread; I was referred by my GP for anxiety in August last year and my IAPT therapist initially said I have ASD traits (my family have always thought I was) and after receiving some advice, I completed some online tests which match up with what I had thought so I booked in to see the GP this afternoon and was told that regardless of my own research, tests and discussions with people...I would need a letter from IAPT to confirm my need for an assessment. I am worried IAPT won’t provide this as I don’t think they would support an assessment due to me not presenting any issues while I am with my therapist. I have a letter from IAPT initially confirming I present with a social phobia as well as my AQ results (which I didn’t tell my gp I had!) I am now at a loss as I have IAPT tomorrow and a gp follow up next Tuesday. Any advice greatly appreciated.
