Sending a Valentines Day Card

Hello all,

I was thinking about sending a lady a Valentine card but have not done this for some time so am a little scared by offending her. I have not met this person but know of her and think she is a special person hence sending her a card. What should I do? I do not wish to breach her privacy or worry her. I may be to cautious here but I am quite shy around people.

  • Hello Plastic,

yes, this is what I was worried about. Will give it up as a bad idea as I would hate to upset someone. I will have to think carefully about how to say she is special in another way.

  • There are a couple of problems with this strategy - will the card from a complete stranger be seen as a bit odd and, depending on what you write in the card, it might be viewed as a bit 'stalker-ish' because, from her point of view, she has no idea who the card would be from and why they would send it to her.

This day and age, one has to be a bit more sensitive to how it would be received by the other person.

I think I'd be saying hello in a more conventional way and see where that goes first.

  • I have not met this person but know of her and think she is a special person hence sending her a card.

Reading the above... would a Valentines Card on Valentines day be the most appropriate thing to send?  Unless you feel happy to declare your love without having met the person.

How about thinking of ways in which you can meet, so rather than send a card, tell her in person that you think she is special??
