I'm Pregnant

The last couple of days I’ve been being sick in the morning, not very pleasant. I had a feeling I might be pregnant so saw my GP this afternoon. I am indeed pregnant and now I’m not sure where to go from here. I’m worried in case the baby ends up Autistic or if he / she is born with all the health problems I have, like a bad immune system, it runs in our family. I have a twin, her name is April and she nearly died when she was born. I was born a couple of minutes after her and also almost died, which is why my parents named me Faith so I would always have faith in myself and life itself. I don’t want this to happen to my baby. I’d hate for anyone to grow up constantly getting poorly like that.

I would never abort as I don’t believe in that, but I am concerned what my baby will be like when he / she is born. The baby wasn’t planned but I am very happy, so is my boyfriend, we’ve both always wanted kids and now it looks as if that is definitely going to happen.

If you have any advice I’d love to hear it. I have a feeling it’s going to be a rough 9 months. Disappointed

Faith x

  • Firstly breathe! Second congratulations, I understand the worry about having a sick baby or something happening at birth, I have 4 children between 22 years and 11 months and each one is different, all but one were early and very small 2 spent time in nicu and are fine one contracted group b strep and nearly died repeatedly but she is now a very quirky 8 year old ( currently awaiting asd assessment)  the point is that just because you have health problems doesn't mean your baby will I have multiple that my children did not inherit. Do check on medication some is fine when pregnant but not when feeding (long time off but it goes quick)

Keep talking to people as your hormones are going to be all over the place (maybe that was just me!)

    Good luck to you
