Something Disturbing.

During the course of my research for a story I am writing, I stumbled accross this very disturbing article from The Guardian. The article is about abuse at a care home named Mendip House in Somerset, which was run by the National Autistic Society. I have read a lot of horror stories about both autistic children and adults becoming institutionalised in privately run ATUs, but a home run by the National Autistic Society?! As one who was diagnosed with Autistic Spectrum Disorder last year. I find this truly frightening.

I ask the NAS membership to please understand that I don't write this post to vilify its members and the hard and good work and often thankless tasks that they carry out. THIS NOT AIMED AT YOU PERSONALLY. I am sure the NAS is as appalled as I am. I am just curious.
