Please share your 'Thought of the Day'

Saw this sign on Twitter just now and thought "That actually makes sense, I should take better care of my self!"

Please share your Thought of the Day - it can be anything you like - quote, poetry, proverb, photo, cartoon, drawing, joke.          - it will be fascinating to see what everyone chooses.

P.S. If you can't see the photo this is what the sign says:

"Don't forget....    Drink water

and get some sunlight,

because you're basically a

house plant with more

complicated emotions."

  • I love it! Thanks Sunflower...

    Two quotes springs to mind...

"If you do what you've always done, you'll have what you've always had."

and "Only dead fish swim with the tide..."

I guess the meaning behind both is similar in that they're encouraging us to go against the flow, try new things, not always take the easiest route but perhaps try the more interesting ones in life from time to time? And perhaps they're reinforcing the message that it's OK to be different...It should even be celebrated :o)

    Enjoy your day! Anna x

  • Thank you Anna! I was inspired by Perdu who put a quote in another thread.

Love both quotes you've shared. First one reminds me of another saying "change is growth". Swimming against the tide is something most of us have done, and it gets very tiring, so it's good to be reminded it's a sign we're alive!

Looking back on my life I've definitely taken the road less travelled. As you say it's important to celebrate this, not feel like we've failed. Perhaps we should rebrand the saying 'Vive La Difference' (long live the difference) to refer to Neurodiversity!
