For mine and my partner's assessment, they took about half a day, and we were told the conclusion at the end of the session. I had a different assessment to my partner though - with a speech and language person as well as the psychologist. I suspect because there was no feedback from my parents available, so perhaps they wanted to gather additional evidence? It then took a few weeks for the letter confirming with the additional information/report to come through.
Maybe we're both really obviously Asperger's though!
You're very welcome...
I hope today is a great day for you :o)

Great news! Good luck with your next chapter...
Thinking of you,
Anna
thanks sunflower im relieved i was really bothered i might've come across as showing off,... the guy who did my assessment was fantastic hes been texting me to see if im ok ( due to having had some really bad days) in fact hes done more to help and support me in last 3 weeks than my care co-ordinator and mental health team have done in the last 2 1/2 years there are some really nice people out there
cheers trog i know what you mean my social care worker put me forward for assessment but has been really uncooperative with regards to my mental health
That's great news, Giddy, particularly that the assessor is so good. That was my experience at assessment, too; after years of dealing with GPs, counsellors, and mental health staff who seemed to have no comprehension of my wonky brain, it was such a relief to finally speak with someone who took what I was saying seriously and responded in useful ways.
