Unread notifications "lightning bolt" thing

ok since the inlgorious revamp, even though I think I have unchecked subscriptions, and unchecked every notification referring to subscriptions, why oh why does the blimming bolt thing tell me i have 4 unread notifications to subscriptions!! (At least it;s only 4 now,,.it was 13 yesterday...)

I want to be notified of replies to threads I've posted in, but not anything else. Under the old site I had this set up correctly. 

But why isn't it working now?????????? grrrrrr

  • This morning I got an email notification on a thread but when I came to the forum there was not a notification via the "lightning bolt" icon.  When I went to the thread the notification "button" indicated that they were on.

    Also, the other thing that I noticed was that the thread title "boldness" changed.  Didn't it use to be bold for new threads - and this turned to plain (unbold) text after you visit?  I raised it but no response but, meanwhile, I've not been posting/responding because of the change!

    So there's something up!

    The marking of threads with bold and normal fonts is somewhat separate. That's something that has been raised in various threads since the new look was introduced. It's something we'll put right in a batch of minor changes on which we are currently working.

    Thanks for the confirmation but it would have been nice to have got a response to my original report - as an autistic person the lack of response is interpreted (literal mind) as it being ignored!

    All the changes undertaken are related and, again, an autistic trait is that we don't like change.  As someone who has been head of a software testing team and instrumental in testing a release of an eCommerce system I know a thing or 2 about the subject.  And it looks like a simple change of the look and feel of the site actually included some fundamental functionality changes that were not tested both with notifications (still) not working correctly and the visit status of forum threads.  Both of these are/were simple things that should have been identified prior to change release!

    So, I confirm that notifications are still not working!
