Facebook alternative (was disappointment)

Just posted the following on Facebook....

Hmmm! Just wondering how abusive and bullying Facebook are by blanking out and displaying the attached screen? Somebody with the challenges of autism would welcome the ease of getting friendship by a simple click - the reality is altogether different!!!

Have you ever come across this?  And, if so, how did/do you feel?

  • OK - so it would appear that FB is a no-no.

The reason I was so "active" was due to the local NAS needing a volunteer to help with coffee mornings (which it looks like I've done).  The impression of the group is that it is mainly focused on children - so, I think, it is largely NTs that use FB.

What I'd like to do is to widen the focus to include more adults (as I've been really impressed with the Autism Hub meetings that I've attended).

It sounds like WhatsApp may be a way of doing this as "social media" (hate that phrase) is not widely used by us NDs.

I'd be seriously interested to hear of alternatives that work for us NDs.
