my niece has autistic son 11yr old at the end of her tether.

my niece is now at a stage where she is wishing her life was now coming to a close and can't cope with the pressures of life. her son of 11 yrs is draining her and she is desperate for respite in the school holidays and some where to take the pressure off her.

You've posted in 'autistic adults', but I wonder if your questions would get more experienced responses if you started one in the parents and carers forum.

What support does your niece have from social services? https://www.autism.org.uk/about/benefits-care/community-care/support-for-carers.aspx

Does she get DLA for her son? https://www.autism.org.uk/about/benefits-care/benefits/children/parents-carers-tips.aspx If she gets DLA can she use that to pay someone to come and provide some regular respite?

You don't say exactly what is so draining. 'Autism' can mean as many different things as there are autistic people. Does he need constant care and supervision? Or is it some aspect of behaviour that challenges?

Has she tried the NAS helpline? 0808 800 4104 (open 10am-4pm, Monday-Thursday, 9am-3pm on Fridays)
