Hammering the point home

Does anyone seem to hammer the point home about stuff?

I'm really bad for it, even when I know the person has got it I feel like the need to go on and when they tell me they've got it I just can't stop. Anyone else do this or similar, if so have you/do you use any techniques to stop, it pisses people off.

  • Yes, I do that all the time. I say the same thing over and over again out of nervousness, I guess, but I don't realise I have done it until later, or I convince myself that people need to hear the same thing in different ways so they'll understand it. However, even when I do that, some people still don't remember my having told them something, even though I said it about 10 times in a row and they claimed that they had understood what I was saying. Perhaps I do it because I feel that nobody really listens to me, as I don't think I did that when I was younger.
