Need help to get back in touch with an old friend

Hello my name's Rachel and I really want to get back in touch with someone I had a massive falling out with its been over a year since we spoke I've tried to make contact through letters and email but I've been far to sceared to check any replies and every time I pick up the phone to ring him my anxiety kicks in and I say i'm not ready for this yet I'll try again tomorrow and tomorrow never comes. As a girl with asperges I suffer a lot from anxiety issues. I'm working a night shift tonight at the local hospital and just thinking of making contact with my friend again I'm shaking I feel sick I'm also trying to hold back the tears. I want to contact my friend later on after I've gone home and slept but I need help in controlling my anxiety and I need help on what to say any advice would be great thanks.

  • Perhaps before phoning your friend it might be a good idea to check all of the letter and e-mail replies to see what your friend has said in reply to your previous contact? That way, you'll have an idea of how your friend feels about things. If phone calls are more difficult, replying to one of the letters or e-mails might be easier.
