Support Groups

Hey, another newbie to the forums. I was diagnosed with autism at the end of last year and while it was great to get some clarification and answers for my continuous struggles in life, it was basically a case of 'our job is done - now off you go, you're on your own'. I'm from a town called Uttoxeter in Staffordshire and I'm not sure if there are any support groups or anything around here. Every time I've looked for things to do with autism or a diagnosis, there's been nothing. Just wondering if anyone is familiar with anything like that?

Thanks

  • I'm a newbie here too :-) The period after my diagnosis was really similar; even though it was great to begin understanding why I was struggling with so many aspects of life, there was no formal support offered and I had to go out and find things myself, like you're doing.

The links caretwo put up look really helpful - hope you manage to find something!
