Hi everyone,
I dont know if i am writing in the right section but ill ask anway.
I have a brother who is 17 and has Autism and ADHD. He currently lives at home with myself and my mum. My mum struggles with him on a day to day basis with his violent outbursts we are in desperate need of some help.
He is currently supposed to be at a residential school and should come hope every 2 weeks for the weekend however he has probably only ever been to school for about a year in all his life. He refuses to go.. and in fact refuses any help we try and give him.
My mum is on the verge of breaking point and she seriously cannot cope with him any longer. Social services have never been much help and after a meeting last week to discuss how they would get him back to school they have now decided that they cannot meet his needs any longer and he officially finishes school this August.
This is what we have always been dreading as we have no idea what is next for him. We dont recieve any support from any charities or agencies so i was just wondering if anybody on here could give me some suggestions?
We live in Essex and there doesnt seem to be much around the area. I need to know if there are any care homes that he could live in or maybe a walden controlled area so he has his own space. If this is not an option then it will most definately end up in him going to prison or being sectioned in a mental home.
We also need help on ideas for colleges or jobs and whether anybody would ever actually employ him???
