Unclear instructions

Does anyone get upset at vague instructions that you're expected to just 'get' and yet can't?

Like "Put that cup over there", when there are three cups and 'there' isn't defined? Or "move it back a bit" when "back isn't specified as a direction?

  • Yes for me as well!

If I ask a colleague for directions they automatically assume I know where they are as they describe the route, I then say “hang on is that by the pub?”

They say yes or no, but if I still don’t really know where the pub is and ask? They repeat the exact same thing but with a raised voice and a look that says are you stupid or something? I then shut them out as any respect or feeling I have toward them goes out the window( the middle one Lol)

I also struggle to remember strings of information due to small working memory area! I forget the first bit before they have finished.(dyslexia)

I would like to say” hang on can I write this down” but they invariably would think it unnecessary and their whole body language and tone would be demeaning, A bit like people who shout louder if speaking English in Russia ,thinking the louder you shout the more it will be understood?
