Hello all
Something that struck a chord with me whilst watching Chris Packham's documentary was his observations about the 'correctional' school in the US being a terrible environment for an autistic person. Random bright colours, no symmetry, mess and chaos everywhere ..... anyone else relate to this?
It made me think of my violent dislike of the new screensavers at work. There are 4 designs, all of which consists of a white circle on a very brightly coloured background (lime, orange etc), overlaid with asymmetrical black graphics and a two-word phrase that is completely nonsensical. If the Dilbert Mission Statement Generator still existed, I would suppose that whoever is responsible for this monstrosity used it to generate the text. It disturbs me every damned morning I turn the PC on and there it is ..... and I always end up reading the text (again) and thinking "that doesn't mean anything. why doesn't that mean anything?". I'm not sure how many autistic people work there, but I bet this thing is doing their heads in!!
Would this disturb you? Do you enjoy symmetry in things?
