Dissociative Behaviour

Has anyone else heard or know anything about Dissociative disorder? I was told i had it when i was assessed by my professor for Autism. But that was it. Nothing else was said. Until i recently talked about it with another autistic friend and my GP.

I really struggle with it. It's so scary and i get so panicky because of it.

I'm finding times hard at the minute for a few reasons. (We are still waiting to hear from a social worker :( To discuss if i am able to get funding for any autism groups/activites. And we are currently attempting to fill in Incapacity form - as it used to be called.)

Just struggling because of things at the minute. Feeling lonely and tired.

Sorry to be a moaner.

This dissociative stuff is horrible though.

basically it is when you don't feel "real". And find yourself in a situation or with someone that you don't truly feel a part of. You feel detached and sometimes like you are watching yourself go through the motions without feeling like you are actually there.

    Hello AnneMargaret

Does this last paragraph describe how you feel?  I'm sorry you're feeling lonely - there's an awful lot of loneliness around, I know - and I've read some of your other recent posts which show that you're having a hard time.

Perhaps, if you feel like it, you could describe in more detail how this affects you?  I can't promise to do anything more than 'listen' (read Smile), but I will at least try to do that.

    Warmest best wishes to you,
