Enzymes/ CEASE therapy anyone?

Hello, I'm wondering if anyone else has tried homeopathic CEASE therapy or Enzyme therapy? My son is rising 4, and is having assessments for ASD. So far the paediatrician at Child Development says that he is not ASD, but CAMHS, who have seen him at the centre with me, and observed him in school think that he is ASD. This has been going on for many months now, and we are getting nowhere as the professionals just cannot agree. All the traits seem to have grown in him since the age of two and are getting worse and worse all the time. I cannot sit by and see him withdraw further from life, with no support from the health professionals, so have decided to try CEASE therapy and Enzyme therapy. I just wondered if any other parents had tried either and what results (if any) you noticed please.

  • Thanks for your reply. What I find very  hard to accept is that AS

D is genetic and uncurable. He had none of these traits for the first couple of years of his life. He was outgoing, affectionate, confident, sociable, made eye contact, was fully toilet trained etc etc. The last year and a half has been like watching him be slowly poisoned. He is becoming worse and worse before my very eyes. This is not something he was born with, therefore there must be a cure. There is so much research suggesting that homeopathy can help, diet can help etc. I have read the most amazing stories of children in the past few weeks in the many books I've been reading. Most of these cases are American and Europeantthough. I just wondered if anyone on this site in the UK has any experience.

  • Stardust,

I can understand your wish to do whatever you can to help your son, but, please don't waste your money on whatever so called cures that come along!

Autism can not be cured. It is a genetic condition. Your son may improve with time, and the right support, but, if he is on the autistic spectrum he will always be autistic.

As well as being a waste of money you may end up making his symptoms worse, and potentially even be subjecting him to potential harm.

If he is diagnosed with autism then please educate yourself about what is actually, scientifically, known about autism, and about the various ways you can help and support him to cope with, and lessen the effects of, his condition.
