Hi, I have twin boys who are nearly three years old. One of my sons is currently awaiting a final diagnosis of Autism and ADHD. He can only say a few words such as mummy, daddy juice, dinner (things he wants usually) he has been throwing himself on the floor and banging his head or walking upto walk and banging the back of his head on the wall for about 10 months now. We have tried everything to get support from gps, health visitors etc. Recently his behaviours have changed he’s started to say a few more words but when he does say them he seems to get very distressed and punches himself in his head. It’s almost like he’s repeating himself and the actions but at the same time he is very worked up this can go on for hours at a time. He’s always got bruises on his head. Can anyone give me any advise on how to calm him? Support him? Or has anyone experienced this themselves? I have tried to cuddle, sit close to him let him know I’m there but it very rarely works.
