Thanks Coogybear, this is really interesting, and it links with something I've been wondering about - is chewing the inside of your mouth and lips considered stimming? I've been doing this since I was a little boy, mainly when I'm anxious or stressed, but sometimes when I'm just concentrating, or even just listening to music! I'm waiting for my assessment, so there are still a lot of questions I'm trying to find answers to.
From a bit of searching online, it appears that chewing inside your mouth does seem to be an Aspie thing (though of course, I'm sure some NTs do it as well - but not with the other accompanying difficulties that those of us on this forum have). I find myself doing vocal stimming too, but it's usually when I'm alone, but I "chew" when in company of others - I can't help it!
Can anyone confirm if this is stimming? I know I said I saw it elsewhere online, but I'd be particularly interested in the views of readers of this forum.
