Anyone on here like football?
Welcome to the community!
Just FYI, you've replied to a thread that was created over 10 years ago, and was last active over 9 years ago. It's easy to miss, but good to get into the habit of checking the dates on threads that the forum might suggest to you, or present in search results :)
Yes I saw bits of it on Match of the Day. Defence was a mess! True and Di Maria was a disaster for you, shame cause he is a fantastic player.
Martial looks like a player who will be good. Rooney always does better in an England shirt it seems.
Would be a massive reality check if they went down.
Thanks! Would be wonderful. Form has been a bit awful lately but Mick McCarthy can turn it around.
I'm unhappy because we lost to Arsenal at the weekend. It's embarrassing, given the manner in which we lost! Plus, we just haven't competed in the transfer market, with the other big teams. Instead of Aguero, Sanchez, Pedro, Bale et al, we ended up with the over-the-hill and the past-it - Schweinsteiger and Falcao, specifically.
It's so disappointing! To see the likes of Giggs and Scholes retire, and players like Evra, Ferdinand and Vidic leave, to be replaced by sub-standard, overpriced ones instead. And I've never rated Rooney, really, either - he's never lived up to the hype.
Can't agree more about the Geordies, though - they're definitely deluded in thinking they are still are massive club and deserve to be competing right at the top!
Ipswich are looking good - it'd be good to see them up in the PL again!
Hey Normalish,
Why are you an unhappy fan? Man U knocked us out of the League Cup a few weeks ago.
Yeah it was good seeing Chelsea lose! Would be strange to see Newcastle in the Championship but the fans need to realise they are nowhere near the levels of the top 5-6 teams in the country.
I'm a Man United fan And an unhappy one at that!
Dad is a Southampton fan, as that's where he's from, so I always have a soft spot for them (especially when they totally do Chelsea) and, since I'm from Newcastle, I suppose I'm always aware of their progress, too - or lack thereof. I find the 'Toon Army' intolerable on account of their aggression, delusion and sheer stupidity, so I'm often quite pleased to have a front-row seat to the circus-show at St. James' Park and take great delight in their current Premier League position!
Hey Sgt Romeo,
Thats's a lot of teams!
You've 2 former Ipswich players, Connor Wickham and Damien Delaney. It's amazing how well Delaney hes done with you since his Town days!
We also had Jonny Williams and Zeki Fryers on loan from you last season. Sadly, Jonny got injured and had to go back. Fryers wasnt good enough.
Yeah I know what you mean, they dont care about the money.
It must be amazing being in the Prem and seeing the best players. Hopefully Town can join you in the Prem next season!
Hi,
I've only recently discovered this topic.
I'm a Crystal Palace fan but also look out for West Ham's results (my dad's team) & also Bromley, my local non-league team (first season in the Conference!).
Have to say I much prefer non-league to league football but that's just my preference. The players do it for the love of the game rather than the money, but watching world class players thanks to my Palace season ticket is still great.
diamonds - They have been out since 2002.
That's good to hear!
Desmond79 - They seem to have such weird form lately but there last two mathces have been good. Hopefully you'll get a good draw in the CL and I think Arsenal will still finish top 4.
Would be unbelievable if they did, to be where they are at the moment is amazing! We are facing them on Boxing Day.
That's a good win for Ipswich, good enough for top 2 if you keep it up. How long has Ipswich been out of the Premiership?
We won 5-1 at the weekend (although it was away at the bottom club) it was a strange game, because the floodlight went out in the corner at h.t, and we had to play the 2nd half in darkness.
James92 said:diamonds - Cool, are they doing well?
I think so to hopefully it will happen.
DebzD22 - He's a good player isnt he? I think Di Maria is as well.
We're top of the league, but a team below us has games in hands on us. Only top team goes up. We went through a spell in where we couldn't stop scoring, 47 goals in 9 games, now we on a blip.
