heads up - BBC 4 docu on mushrooms tonight

This fascinating programme, The MAgic of Mushrooms, is on now [9pm Weds 22 July] and also on i-player.

I wasn't sure whether to post this on the nature thread or 'what are you watching' - so here it is as a stand alone. I know a lot of autistic people are interested in mushrooms, having attended a social and most people had images of fungi on their phones - we almost renamed ourselves the mushroom club!

  • Guilty Grimacing

I have pictures on my phone of mushrooms.

I would love to be confident about them because I would like to eat the ones I find in the woods but my son told me that they are very hard to identify and sometimes the ones that are poisonous can look very similar to the safe ones.

  • Sounds like another good recommendation, will have to catch up with that!

I just got a mushroom t-shirt, though I don't have and pictures on my phone currently. At one point about 15 years ago I did go though a series of fungi wallpapers on my work computer, from a site called nature's calender (a citizen science project for logging first sightings of things). Coral fungus really does make you feel like youb must be looking at something underwater!
