I'm back! (just about)

What a nightmare it's been!

Contrary to what the mods are saying, the password reset is NOT  working; I've tried it about 5 times. I e-mailed the community manager about 8 times. 3 times the e-mail just bounced back to me. I thought about giving up and just not using the forum anymore.

I eventually received a temporary password this morning, so I'm using that now, so things still aren't completely working for me; I've got no idea how I'm going to get a proper password. (Anyone got any ideas?) At least I can get in and actually start communicating with people, using the temporary password though.

If there's anyone else out there still trying to get back on to the forum, I hope they manage it soon. Frowning2

  • Hi Sparkly. I'm getting a little paranoid as I notice your and others' posts are way more recent than my posts from a couple of hours ago that are awaiting moderator approval. I hope I haven't been deemed a trouble-maker! I think I only said nice and diplomatic things...

  • Well done for persevering.  It has been a cluster-buck of nonsense and confusion whilst you have been away tbh (in my opinion.)

I share your hope that others will be able to get back, if they wish to.

    Welcome back Mark.

  • Welcome back.

The only way that I could sign into my original account was by being e-mailed a temporary password too. I had then promptly changed it back to my original password by resetting my password via my account settings. This was before the moderators had made an announcement telling members to continue using the temporary password until the 'password reset' issue had been fixed.

  • Ah, I see the problem. Moderator workload is causing longer delays in approval - which was once automatic pending possible removal? Hopefully it won't always be this way, or conversations might get a little disjointed. But as I was being positive before, I'll try to to get too despondent and will assume that it's teething problems! Hope everyone is doing OK.

  • Oh, just posted something but it's not shown up. I'll try this shorter message to see if that helps.

  • Hello, I too have just forund a way back from the wilds beyond the walls, nice to be here again.

All change is hard, especially for us autistics, so I'll just say it's not been fun but that my sympathies go equally to the mods who had the inevitable unforseeen snags list to wade through before we could all wander back in dazed and confused.. but helped to the best of their (much appreciated) efforts nonetheless.

Anyway, reassuring to see comfortingly  familiar, if in some cases modified, user-names and presences still very much around. :-)
