Reading

I find reading peaceful and relaxing. All my worries and problems disappear for a time. I just finished reading the Secret Garden, a favourite of my mum's.

  • Its a good feeling to have finished a book, whats your next read?

Ive just gone through Harry Potter (read the comments), excellent books!  Shadow and Bone (also on Netflix), and now reading A Court of Thorns and Roses.

  • I love Stephen Fry he has a charmingly beautiful voice.

I've not read Terry Pratchett books before but they are on my to read list. I've heard so many good things about those books.

I have to be in the right frame of mind to read most of the time.

I'm not great at writing and my hands get painful a lot because of anxiety so that puts me off but perhaps a little writing each day might be fun.

Do you write? You seem very good at it.

  • Harry Potter is pretty good - I particularly like the audiobooks narrated by Stephen Fry.

My favourites are probably anything by Terry Pratchett (read all the Diskworld books at least once) but also like some more "thinking" books like Isaac Asimovs Foundation series and Arthur C Clarkes Childhoods End.

I need to be in the right frame of mind to read those mind you, but it does feel like taking your mind to the gym for a workout at points.

Have you ever tried writing something - even a short story?

  • Lord of the Rings is one of my favourites! I also like The Book Thief, Starless Sea and Harry Potter books.

    What are yours?

  • It is great to escape into a good book - I'm doing this myself at the moment with The Lord of The Rings.

    What are your favourite books?
