It seems I've been sent to Coventry

Don't even fit in here  .

  • Ring of whores?    ive been to Rome and never heard of that!

  • I get it almost all the time....its really bizarre here at times...

  • i must have been in a bad bit.  all cities have bad bits. the bad areas in Rome "the ring of whores" are really scarey

  • I will have to disagree.

While living in Birmingham for three years, I made one day trip to Coventry.  I definitely prefer Birmingham. It is larger, has more life, better shopping, more canals.

On a different theme.  I have been sent to Coventry many times, buy only visited it once!

  • I've been to Coventry. It made Birmingham look good :)

  • I'm doing OK  in my  simple, low key, way  .

  • I'm surviving. Thankyou for asking.  How are you?

  • Hadn't heard this expression before, so I wasn't sure what you meant when you first posted this.  Also, speaking strictly for me, I read a lot of posts on here but reply to very few.  Only when I feel like I have something to say I suppose, but also the forum tends to be exceptionally slow on my end and replies have a habit of disappearing into the ether.  Kind've discouraging.  Maybe there are others here who are the same way.  In any case I doubt the people here would purposely ignore someone's posts unless they were guilty of trolling or some such.

  • I imagine that it’s more the case that there tends to be quite a high turnover of forum users. You might have been using the the forum for quite some time but I find myself that if I don’t post for a week or two and then post, there’s so many new forum users, to them I’m probably new as I’ve only just appeared and wasn’t posting when they joined. I started a post the other day about my youngest daughter’s behaviour and literally no one replied to it. I suspect the reason for this is that people thought I was just a random parent logging in to post a question or that what I wrote wasn’t relevant to other current forum members. Try not to take it to heart.

  • Communication is too complicated, overall. I think it's good you can be honest about how you feel. The problem often is most of us are not clear about what we want or other people are not clear to us about what they want. The good thing about this post here, is that you are communicating openly, which helps understanding. When people make things subtle or uncertain, nobody really knows where they stand.

  • I very much like your posts and everyone elses too because we are rich tapestry of individualities that thread together to support one another and all and asundy, each a greater treasure than anything materially on this earth.

I very much hope you not feeling stuck in Coventry sort of thing any more, and know that your presence and input is very much appreciated here, and another place too we both frequent.

  •  I got that impression  from mentioning that IQ test  on the thread started by the Belgian woman . Then no one replying to my post about my ADOS 2 report .

I just had a look at the IQ test thread again and must state that you did better than me in terms of replies ~ and thanks for bringing up the subject of that thread as someone started a discussion with me that I forgot about with the latest batch of seizures fragging things about in my memory.

As for the ADOS 2 I did not get that in my diagnostic assessment, and I did not know you had posted on the matter either until you mentioned it here.

I think perhaps a lack of response here has more to do with timing really, rather than being actively ignored by anyone though. Personally I very much like your posts and everyone elses too because we are rich tapestry of individualities that thread together to support one another and all and asundy, each a greater treasure than anything materially on this earth.

I very much hope you not feeling stuck in Coventry sort of thing any more, and know that your presence and input is very much appreciated here, and another place too we both frequent. :-)

  • Or does the statement:

Don't even fit in here  .

Mean that you feel in some way ignored here on this forum rather than as here on this your thread?

  • To send someone to Coventry is an English idiom meaning to deliberately ostracise someone. Typically, this is done by not talking to them, avoiding their company, and acting as if they no longer exist. Victims are treated as though they are completely invisible and inaudible. The Coventry in the phrase is the cathedral city in the West Midlands.

Have you broken the expected bond of persecutors that their victims should not discuss or even challenge the moral and ethical short-comings involved with their and or also their supporters behaviour, and are now getting the 'how dare you!' treatment in return, or something of that sort perhaps?

  • I also took it literally yet have heard the saying before. I've not seen your posts as I've been I'll for a few weeks. So hello from me and welcome
