I was reading an article in the daily mail today about an autistic adult and came across this piece of information.
Any comments???
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, people with autism have trouble with social, emotional and communication skills that usually develop before the age of three and last throughout a person’s life.
Specific signs of autism include:
'Autistic people aren't scary or vicious or aggressive, they can be vulnerable people and are totally entitled to have their part in society and be represented,' she said.
The CDC is the leading Public Health Institute in the US. It grew out of its original infectious disease control remit.
The article I'm referring to is here.
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-6462919/Mum-slams-Tube-passengers-ignored-autistic-son.html
Where a mother complains how her adult Autistic son was ignored on the London underground when he became separated from his carer.
What caught my eye was the newspaper explaining to it's readers what autism was. By quoting the centres for disease control and infection.
Are they suggesting that Autism is a disease/ infection that needs controlling? ️
When I had my meltdown at work and punched a wall, I was regarded as being the aggressive one - not the f**kwit NT who provoked the incident by shouting at me! The same one who makes passive-aggressive comments to me now. The same one who damaged my car.
My peace-loving, non-violent approach to life is being sorely tested, I can tell you...
This was all I could focus on. Couldn't take in the rest after reading that sentence. What on earth does autism have to do with disease control.
That's called 'Mission Creep' where you include more unrelated things under your umbrella to try to increase government funding (and the CEO wants a bigger house).
What I find amusing, is that to find out about autism, they went to:
"Center for Disease Control and Prevention"

I dropkicked an abusive NT's face 5 months ago.
