We've got rain!

I saw Wales has reached drought conditions?

I hope it was enough to damp down the wild fires on the mainland, I'm sure the firebrigade was happy even if it wasn't enough to totally soak the ground.

Hope it's coming my way!!

Had rain briefly this morning:)  in Devon 

Can't see signs of the promised rain in Devon. None forcast now for at least 2 weeks. The fields are all parched - poor farmers.

We had more rain in the evening, not enough, but today everything looks clean and the plants look happier as it's cooler.

The hot weather can drive up ants inside to. I woke up yesterday in my flat on the first floor to ants and I was shell shocked. It seems that the warm weather encourages them inside to. I have never seen this before in over 20 years here.

I have been a bit concerned about the fires which seems to be caused additionally by heat to.

None for me. Its not rained since some time in the first half of June. It is not going to rain for at least another week. It's strange.

The trees down my road usually drip sap, it is mostly the aphids, but it has almost stopped. I doubt there are no aphids, so it suggests the water pressure in the trees is down. I have been expecting them to show some signs of water stress and start dropping leaves.

On the plus side the warm dry weather suits the swifts. There have been a few more this year. Their numbers have been falling over the last 30 years.

I was glad to see a bit of rain today in London especially with the hosepipe ban we have in some areas of London as well. The rain got heavy at one point I am hoping to see a little bit more soon.

It rained overnight, enough to wet the hard pavements. Completely dried out now.

Yes some here overnight in the East Midlands as my outside table has a puddle on it! 
The grass is parched though and desperate for water. 

We had fine rain yesterday evening and heavier rain overnight. Things were quite damp this morning. 

It wasn’t wet enough to give the trees a good drink.

We are finally having a heavy shower of rain. Trying to forget having to work at 32 degrees on Wednesday and enjoying the dampened ground and no watering either today.

It was wild rainy and windy this morning, my brother was having a BBQ birthday party for my nephew and I thought oh no! It cleared up a lot and turned sunny again though still very windy. It's pretty yellow and the rivers are so low here too currently, it must be parched where it hasn't rained. I'm sure I read it's in the phase before technically a drought for some parts.

That is a bizarre looking photo, it's interesting in a different way!

Still no rain here, although a couple of weekends ago there was flooding in central Carlisle after a heavy shower. the dry weather has ruined my photography.   Grass looks like straw.

It's like gold dust down here in the Deep South.
