Executive dysfunction

Hello, I'm curious to ask what your experiences are with executive disfunction, to me it feels like delaying important tasks that are needed to do ASAP but I'm procrastinating it to the point that is similar to what I used to do with school homework which was to do it last minute but get stressed & overwhelmed by it. Also its the same for chores/cleaning my bedroom.

  • Dear Experiment626,

I know many of the community struggle with executive function so hopefully they will be able to share some of their experiences with you. I thought I would share one of our advice and guidance pages for you to take a look at whilst we wait for some personal experiences and advice from the wider community:

    • Organising and prioritising - this has some really helpful strategies and links to brain in hand which is a really helpful supportive system that may be beneficial for you

From my own experience it can be really helpful to set alarms to help prompt you to engage in a task for a set amount of time, but this can feel too demanding for some individuals so please only use if this is helpful to you

    Best wishes,
