Disney character and autism

Does anyone believes that some Disney characters does share some autistic trait as I believe that lots of Disney characters does share lots of autistic trait? Like with winnie the pooh, he has OCD and obsession himself as he attached to honey alot and get very obsessed easily, Tigger has ADHD as he always bounces alot, piglet look like she has anxiety disorder, eyore as depression disorder, when Alice fell into the hole, she entered into a strange world and lots of  characters shares lots of autistic trait, stitch also looks autistic, peter pan thinks about happy thought then he can fly and it looks like an autistic ritual habit and peter pan refuse to grow up and want everything the same like autism. So lots of Disney characters does look autistic. And also the author who wrote alice in wonderland " Lewis Caroll" is believed to be high function autistic by the psychologist.

  • I have Depression Anixiety and High Functioning Autsim Which disney or Pixar or Dreamworks or Marvel or Sony or Blue sky's or Centry Fox Character am I?

  • I really like stitch!! Obsessed with him I can watch Lilo and Stitch over and over again

  • I Have Depression Anixeity and High Functioning Autism I'm a guy. Which Disney or Pixar or Dreamworks or Marvel or Sony or Centry Fox Character do I relate too?

  • I have Depression Anixiety and High Functioning Autsim Which disney or Pixar or Dreamworks or Marvel or Sony or Blue sky's or Centry Fox Character am I?

  • In short the only canon autistic character is the train loving kid in a single episode of Fancy Nancy. There are definitely quite a few Ableist characters that are caricatures of autism like Dopey, or the "dumb" or really lost comic side characters. There are a few I headcanon as autistic, including Gordo from Lizzie McGuire. Both Huey and Violet from DuckTales 2017, and Barry from Best Friends Whenever.

Though there also is a single canon autistic character in Renee which Pixar dealt with SO well by the way.

We definitely need so much More autistic rep , it'd help autistic people see themselves and accept their autism, and get rid of the stigma seen in it. Tho the only canon autistic character is still a very basic stereotype of the White Train obsessed little boy at least we're slowly starting to get somewhere

  • I have studied literature and I have studied autism so I know the up to date research ,, and the difference between professional opinion, and professionals who have an opinion. On balance they are entitled to their opinion. That is all it is:their opinion. Nice idea but another fantasy. My philosophy is just keep believing if it makes you happy. It doesn't hurt anybody to believe.

  • https://listverse.com/2011/12/05/top-10-alleged-autistics-in-history/ view this website, it shows how psychologist today believed these author were autistic.

  • the man who first wrote the little mermaid, the snow queen which had influence frozen today and the ugly duckling was written by Hans christian anderson. anderson was believed to be autistic due to the way he behaved, he mostly good at interacting with children as adult would been very hard for him to interact with and he had some ritualised behaviour. it was believed by the modern psychologist today. although back then he didnt get the diagnosis as autism back then only described as someone who was severely autistic. high function one would just consider as someone like other except they were thought as someone who was awkward.

so as lewis caroll who first wrote alice in wonderland was believed to be autistic and he was believed to had epilepsy too. so that's how he got all the idea for alice in wonderland.

  • Well lots of good diney characters does share some autistic trait like stitch and lilo, the dwaves from snow white, beast from beauty and the beast as the beast looks clumpsy like me, donald duck, goofy, gus from cinderella and the character as i mentioned up there.

  • well did you know that some fairy tale writer such as Hans christian andersen and lewis caroll are believed to be on the spectrum by the modern psychologist today. well here the things, when we think of autism today, we think the whole spectrum which include high or low functioning. but back then, special need were only described as people who were severely autistic. if you were high functioning, people would just few you like one of other except they might take you as someone who is akward. so maybe these author could had been high function autistic but didn't got diagnosed. So maybe they used their autism to write fairy tale. So that's why now, people would uses these characters to represent autism.

  • Furthermore retrospective attempts to link some of our authors to the spectrum is absolute rubbish, has no benchmark of evidence and is the fancy of so called experts who could make up anything about these people. It is incredibly hard to pin any element of imagination to a specific diagnosis and people who make these claims use the word traits because they know themselves that they could definitely not state that a dead author is autistic. They do this to make autistic people feel better about their diagnosis so if believing in this helps keep believing. It does no harm.

  • No.I do not believe this.Interpretation by others has taken over the function intended by the author. As fiction has a personal element anybody can pretend that the trait is autism but this is not the author's intent. Nice that you like to feel this though.

  • I over-identify with quite a few Disney characters - it's the simplicity and naivety of their thoughts - their basic good intentions and the way they are often unwittingly used by unscrupulous characters which ends up damaging them.
