Moving House

Hello - first post on here. I'm currently packing (or trying to pack) ready to move house this Saturday. I am finding it so overwhelming and I am struggling to even make up boxes let alone pack them. I'm not particularly upset about moving from my current place (I've been living in student halls as an older student) but I'm experiencing a lot of stress with having not packed and not being prepared whilst also having dysfunction and not physically being able to get up and pack.

Has anyone else experienced this while moving. I am at a loss of how to get myself ready in time to move.

Thank you

  • Hi and welcome to the community.

There's a related thread from a few days ago here that you might find helpful:

Something else that might help is using an AI chatbot (eg ChatGPT, Claude, etc), which could help you with planning and preparing for your move. As part of this, for example, it can prepare things like checklists or reminders that you can print out.

In a similar way to body doubling - which I think is a great suggestion from   - AI could also help by encouraging and supporting you through the packing process, whenever you have enough energy - and would always be accessible when needed.
