Hi all

i imagined having asd I would get more help, but it seems I am getting less than when I had anxiety depression

for over 3 years I’ve lived in my current accommodation which is a room in a house, I feel like a prisoner as I don’t leave my room as I don’t want to see any other tenants, the noise makes me self harm and smash things, there have been other tenants doors kicked in as people are in and out letting anybody in, I don’t get much sleep nor am I eating properly just crisps and biscuits, but yet I keep getting told I’m not homeless I have a roof over my head so I don’t get anyhelp

  • I am sorry to read of your difficulties.  You don't say who is the landlord of the property you live in, but if it belongs to a local authority or housing association, I'd suggest you make sure the current experiences & impact they are having on your mental health are placed on record as that will give weight to an application to move. 

    I don't want to make any presumptions, but what sounds like single-person accommodation in an HMO perhaps originally designed as a family home is quite often not ideal, with partition walls having to serve as the only block between persons with hugely varying habits. 

    Please also consider visiting the Shelter website (the Housing & Homelessness Charity) who can provide some advice.  The CAB might also be of assistance to you via their website, or locally.

    Hi, the landlord is private, rogue landlords, whenever repairs need doing they ignore the phone and email, never see them, they have so many properties they never show up here, the boiler keeps failing so only last month was without hot water for 10 days

    i have contacted shelter prior to my asd but will call them again, the CAB give me shelters number and tell me to contact them
