So who has a 'Superpower' - some weird thing you can do that others can't.

After reading the discussion on synesthesia, I thought it would be nice to find out what other weird, interesting or even useless ability we all might have.

I have an almost Jack Reacher like clock ability in my head. If I set the alarm for the morning, I will always wake up a few minutes before it goes off - I am NEVER awakened by the alarm no mater how tired I was when I went to bed.

  • This has made me speechless.. so many things…. So many….

  • As a student I played a mind-reading game with a friend, other friends were there too and witnessed it. He wrote a letter of the alphabet down on a piece of paper and studied it, without me being able to see it. I then emptied my mind and said the first letter that suggested itself. I got 10 letters in a row correct, at which time my friend became slightly alarmed and refused to do any more.

  • I can spend a few minutes looking at a map of a city I've never been to, often as the plane is on final approach to land, then pick up a hire car, not look at the map again or switch on the GPS, and drive out of town on the right route even if it's a big city and it's an hour so's drive to the interstate.

I can usually even cope with diversions.

For years I actually didn't realise other people couldn't do this; I knew I was good at it, but I thought only elderly people or very inexperienced drivers couldn't do it at all.

I used to travel a lot on my own, so I guess I had no comparator, but later on started travelling sometimes with other people and only then did it dawn on me that this was really unusual.  Colleagues thought it was some kind of black magic and it became a 'thing' in the company.

I'm not sure this has anything to do with autism, but who knows?

  • I often see the tiniest piece of dirt/dust/hair anywhere.

in public, on people’s clothing, in my house and it drives me crazy.

I could pass a car crash and not notice it. But walk into a room and be bothered by a small piece of paper that’s on the floor and no one else can see it.

  • i can copy physical movement i guess.

i was playing poole/snooker in a bar and some dark guy came over and challenged me to a poole match, i agreed, my skills were rubbish and i hit the balls bad and missed alot hardly potting anything, he was very good and precise and potted multiple balls, but on his turn i analysed the way he held the poole que and how he positioned his body and hands and the speed and power he used to hit the white ball and the position on the ball he hit and the angles he was going for, i copied all his movement to my brain, and pasted it on my turn doing exactly as he did, then i started potting balls, i heard him make a surprised sound as he realised i was now good and perhaps realised i am perfectly copying his style, and i eventually beat him lol he was amazed and wanted a rematch, i didnt give him one incase i lost my touch on it aha

  • I don't have any special powers to my knowledge

I can make plates and cups I'm ok at pottery but it's not a special power lots of people can do that

My mum has a photographic memory mind you, though I didn't inherit that

  • I’m a man and I can multitask, I can sit on the toilet and read the newspaper at the same time!

Thats got to be the winner!

  • I can programme the clock on a microwave!!!
